My new stationary bicycle arrived yesterday. This picture is what it looks like, except my bike doesn't have a white box surrounding it. I put it together myself. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. I worked really quickly to get that thing put together while Little Guy slept. Once I got it fully assembled and sat down to relax, he woke up! So, perfect timing.
My husband's brothers gave me a $50 gift card, and my Mom also sent me some money for Christmas - so the bike is what I decided to get. I am really pleased with the quality. I like that the mechanisms are enclosed, so it's a lot safer around the younger children. This bike has a padded adjustable handlebar and adjustable seat. It can take riders up to 300 lbs. The digital readout is basic, but it gives what is needed - timer, calories burned, distance, and speed.
It works using magnetic resistance, so we can adjust it to be a challenge if we want to!
It is a heavy, strong piece of equipment, but if you lift it at the back of the seat, you can roll it on the rollers that are below the front stabilizer bar. I have moved mine around without any problem. I put it in front of the TV so I can get some exercise while watching.
You can check it out here:

I see the price has gone down about 10 dollars just since I bought mine (I should have waited!)
But I would be really surprised if they lower it more than the price it is as I write this...$83.44.
And, the toddler play-yard I already have works great to keep Little Guy away from the bike!

yay, i did a mile on the treadmill today! doesn't sound like much, but is major for a sloth like me. LOL
Letti, that sounds really good! What brand treadmill do you have? I'd love to have one but a problem I often have with 'home' versions of treadmills is that the walking area is too short. I am 5'11" tall so I need a long walk area. I'd also love to have one to give my dog more exercise!!! :) I am trying to do 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes before bed on the exercise bike every day.
I hate exercise bikes. :) We have a recumbant one. I always feel so out of shape on them - maybe because I am?? Hahaha.
It's easy to not feel so out of shape on a treadmill.
Good luck to you! Maybe I should take after you and try to do 10 minutes here and there. That might work. I want to get 30-45 minutes in, but just never have that amount of time.
even 5 minutes is better than nothing!
Recumbent bikes are supposed to be easier on the knees, I think?
Anyway, you just had a baby...it takes a full year for your body to return to normal. :)
Hi! We have a Gold's Gym VX 5000 ( sounds like over the top, eh? ) which even david uses. ( he's 6'3" ). At 5'6", I'm a midget next to him. And I used to think in Malaysia I was super tall among the asians. LOL! Oh, and i'm sure we got it at a discount or something. *grin*
