best laid plans

Little Guy is now 13 months old and about 30 inches tall. Recently, we bought a Superyard XT, which is a tall (24 inch), foldable playpen thingie. I used to have one for our twins, and it worked great. The new one works great too...mostly.

I was doing the happy dance for the last week or so, because I could put him in there, and it is large enough for him to be happy and play, but it would keep him corralled for a little while so I could do some cleaning and even (gasp!) pencil portraits.

Well, he has already learned how to thwart the play-yard. In case you've never seen one of these, let me describe it a bit. It has no bottom like a traditional playpen. It sets up on your carpet. You can even use it outdoors, take it camping, or to the beach. The kids can still play in the sand. Pretty cool, just keeps them in a play area. Little Guy has figured out how to stand in any one of the corner sections, hang onto it, and then just walk wherever he wants to....to the DVD rack, to the TV, etc.

Mommy's rest is over. But I am proud of him for being so smart!

That is funny! Where there is a will there is a way. And what is it with the tv buttons, I cannot keep my 1 year old away from them either.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. That made me snort.

Kids will figure out any way to get to the remote and DVD player! I'm convinced!

Looks like you need to nail it to the ground. Or put sandbags around it like a war zone. That might take a few days for him to figure out!

hmmm...I DO have sandbags believe it or not...I have them for a art festival tent....didn't think about using them with the playyard...but wouldn't that seem desperate...hmmm...well I AM desperate LOL

lol that's like our dog, henry, who is in a crate indoors at night. We had to clean his crate bottom once, and without the tray at the bottom, we found him one morning at the other end of the kitchen and he had maneuvered a 90 degree turn around the kitchen table, walking around with the crate!!

LOL!!! That is so funny Letti! Our dog would probably do that too...but he'd be freaking out.
