Warning: this post contains entirely too much personal information on hemorrhoids, pain, fiber, and other complaints of the late stages of pregnancy. It also includes the word 'heinie.'
But, since most of that was in this warning, you are past most of it now, so you might as well go on reading. I have to complain to someone, and it might as well be you.

I am suffering back nether-region pain now if you get my drift! (the dreaded hemmorrhoids). If I can't get it to subside before the girls go back to school on Monday, I don't know WHAT I'm going to do to keep up with Little Man. He's 2, so you know I have to get up and down all the time to look after him. I gave myself a sitz bath today, I have a 'donut' pillow - which somewhat helps, I just took some fiber (argh) and I'll try to drink a lot of fluids today. The pain was so bad last night that I was actually sobbing!!! I was thinking, I can't believe this! How am I going to get through this?!? But probably some of it was due to hormones too, they are SO FUN!!!!

I keep having fantasies of having a syringe of novacaine to shoot my heinie with...LOL That's the problem with having worked for an oral surgeon several years ago...I know how easily the pain could just go away if only I had the proper stuff! :)

You may wonder, what on earth is a sitz bath? I didn't know either, I had to go online and look it up. Basically you take 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup vinegar and put it in warm tubwater that's at least hip deep. Then you sit in it for about 20 minutes or until the water starts getting cold - genius, huh? It comes from a German word that means 'sit.' We Germans are SO creative! Typical, I only had maybe 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. I did have apple cider vinegar on hand also, and considered using it to make up the shortage, but not sure if apple cider vinegar would do the trick. I'd also go around smelling like an apple orchard.
At least the thought of that gave me something to laugh about.
I hate having to ask my husband to go out and buy Tucks for me. What an embarrassing purchase that is.

What it comes down to - the only thing that's really going to end all this discomfort is to have the baby...I hope that will be soon. Getting the bag packed and thinking positive thoughts.

And of course all the time in my mind is, what am I going to tell my art clients? I really can't sit, stand, or lie down (you name it, any position is uncomfortable in the least) for any amount of time to get any artwork done. I'll just email and /or call them and let everyone know, and then to decide what to put on my website. I guess I'll just put maternity leave notice on there, and not take any commissions that need a firm deadline.

I will take any tips/advice!

Isn't pregnancy wonderful? I have no solutions for you, but I hope you get better soon!

Have you tried the Prep. H gels and stuff? Do they even work?

:)

Thanks Cindy, yes it is soooo fun, lemmee tell ya! I haven't tried any ointments, because I would have to get them cleared with the doctor first. And of course, this all hit over the weekend, like painful things tend to do (don't know why!) But I'm going to get checked out by the doctor because it's getting really hard to deal with now.

I went to the doctor and got a prescription for an anesthetic/steroid cream. It seems to be helping. If it doesn't clear up within a week or so, it might require surgery. YIKES!!!!

Gah- how not fun - that you need to get everything pre-checked before you can take it. Hopefully you are getting relief. I've never had them, but I know they are NO FUN!
