London has just been chosen as the site of the 2012 Olympic Games.
I remember when the Olympics were in Atlanta in the early 1990's. Residents left in swarms because they thought the traffic would be horrendous...but because so many residents left the city, the traffic situation was better than ever! Of course, the other reason some residents left town was so that they could rent out their home to Olympic visitors at exhorbitant rates.
I would love to go to London, but I think I would rather go when the city is 'normal,' ie no big event like the Olympics going on, so I could see the city as it usually is.
