Lori always gets the good emails...luckily, she forwards them to me!
Read this one all the way to the bottom...the best is last! I about fell off my chair at the last one!

JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister.
After a while he asked: "Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and
one for cold milk?"

MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was.
Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie
said, "If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties.
Mine say five to six."

STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom goodnight. "I love you so much,
that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window."

BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a painkiller. She tried in
vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom
explained it was a childproof cap and she'd have to open it for her.
Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: "How does it know it's me?

SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. "Please
don't give me this juice again," she said, "It makes my teeth cough."

D I (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: "How much do I
cost?"

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and
kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his
dad: "Why is he whispering in her mouth?"

CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked
what was troubling him, he replied, "I don't know what'll happen with
this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?"

JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story.
His dad read: "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee
out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt."
Concerned, James asked: "What happened to the flea?"

TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather
wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for awhile and then
asked, "Why doesn't your skin fit your face?"

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget.... this particular Sunday
sermon..."Dear Lord," the minister began, with arms extended toward
heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. "Without you,we are
but dust." He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient
daughter (who was listening!) Leaned over to me and asked quite audibly
in her shrill little girl voice, "Mom, what is butt dust?"

This isn't the best picture of myself or my baby (in this picture he is about 2 weeks old)...but you can see how big and alert he is. He was over 10 pounds at birth and 20 and a half inches long.

Wish I could be alert too! I look like I am smiling while asleep here LOL...Little Man is behind me, checking out everything.

We are finally getting some fall weather here. I just love it, fall is my favorite time of year. Lots of beautiful, colorful leaves on the ground. The cooler weather makes me feel more energetic too.

DH took DD1 and DD2 to the movies today and they saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'll get a movie review from them later. :) We had DD1 clean the living room and vacuum it, and DD2 did the dishes, to much wailing and moaning...but it did get done, so they got to go to the movie.

Little Man (26 months old) has stuffed himself with graham crackers so he doesn't have any appetite for his peanut butter sandwich. Amazingly, he finds room for his chocolate milk though! He has been really into watching SpongeBob SquarePants today for some reason.

My brother in law and his girlfriend came over today to see the baby. Little Man delighted in showing all his gymnastic skills and also dog 'training' skills. He made Laser go into his crate and come out of the crate, over and over again.

Little Guy ("PorkChop") is now two weeks old. He is napping right now, and I probably should too, but it is impossible unless I can get Little Man the toddler down for his nap also. It's worth a shot. Little Guy has been drinking formula like there's no tomorrow.

He slept for about 3 hours last night on my chest. I wasn't the most comfortable, but right now I will take sleep of any quality, as long as it's sleep. To get a feel for what it's like, borrow a friend's 10 lb bowling ball, wrap it in a receiving blanket, heat it in the microwave, and place on chest - now try to sleep for 2-3 hours. LOL

I hope you are having a fun weekend!

It has been awhile since I've posted to the blog. My life is revolving around feeding, changing, fixing food, laundry, etc...and all the work that having a newborn entails. Somewhere in there, I'm supposed to sleep and take a shower. It has been interesting to say the least! I am not currently at my most well-groomed, let's put it that way LOL

I have been lucky not to have gotten the 'baby blues' or postpartum depression. I think I am too busy for that or something. Although tired, I feel so much better physically than I did while I was pregnant. I am not in pain with every step, and I don't get sore when I'm sitting, and that is a major improvement so I can't complain at all.

I'm enjoying my body returning to "me" again. It is important for new moms to take care of themselves. I found that the maternity shirts I have had to wear didn't make me feel very good lately. Most of them have a stain or two on them also. So I ordered some new tops from JCPenney.com and some new jeans from WalMart.com.
The shirts arrived yesterday and the jeans arrived today. It is so much easier to have the stuff come to the door. I need to wear my jeans in Talls, and it is a big hassle to have to dig through that stack of jeans in the WalMart store to find the tall ones.
I also have new makeup that I bought right before going into the hospital.
It's amazing how these little things can make you feel so much better.

After I get the go-ahead from the doctor when I get my 6 week's checkup, I want to do some (fairly casual) dieting and some exercise. I am 2 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but I didn't start out at a good weight. I still need to lose 20 lbs or so to be a really healthy weight. I will probably go back to weight loss/diet blogging. I had lost 6 lbs from doing that before. It helped me to know I would need to post my weight to my weight loss blog every Thursday. It would keep me accountable for my actions.
ie: "Actions" = stuffing my face.

The baby seems to be getting into somewhat of a schedule. It is his schedule, not mine, but I have started to see some predictability in it, so hopefully I can get more work (ie art work) done. I am definitely in the mood, it's just a matter of finding blocks of time.

He is crying now, so that ends this blog entry! Have a good day and thanks for stopping by.

A customer comment:

”She's so reasonable! My Mother in Law just
ordered 5 drawings...one for each of the grandchildren
...to give to them as Christmas gifts.
Darla was unbelievably professional,
gave clear instructions of what she needed,
did the portraits in an excellent amount of time,
and the results are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

These [portraits] in my opinion have captured the beauty
and personality of each child to a tee!

Thanks, Darla!” ~Suzanne, Connecticut

It is a lovely, dark and rainy morning. I guess it is rain because of Hurricane Tammy. I am going to need to look at some weather maps. Whenever it's rainy, I can't really watch DirectTV satellite, it freezes up the picture. So I generally go online to the National Hurricane Center or the Weather Channel.

I have already spent some of this morning helping DD2 with her current events homework, and reviewing math because she has a test today.

Rainy weather makes us all grumpy here. But we really needed the rain.

Sheesh...Kids Today!!!

I have spent about an hour and a half going over these Spanish phrases
so my daughter (DD2) can say them in a presentation for her 6th grade class today. We might have some of them wrong because we got them from the Internet (I have a kid who forgets and leaves important stuff at school) I took Spanish in 9th grade but I have forgotten much of it, except colors and how to say chicken (pollo) LOL! No me gusta la clase de Espanol! I guess I know Spanish at perhaps the toddler level.
She will be asking these questions and the other student in her class will answer, hopefully appropriately! It would be fun to see them do this.

Hello

Apparently they are teaching kids how to pick up people in bars...hahaha

If these are wrong (I know they don't have the punctuation and accent marks right, I don't have the capability on this PC to fix that), I don't want to hear about it.... :) Ugh, I am so tired!

Little Man got hold of the Gerber Baby Lotion and insisted he have it dispensed into his chubby hands. He loves to put on lotion. He loves to wash his hands, he loves to brush his teeth.
He gave his sisters lots of kisses goodbye this morning. I guess I have nothing to complain about with this kid! I know people talk about the 'terrible twos' but I just really love this age.
